Refs: | The google results for 海賊のドクロ and "pirate skull" are pretty much identical, so I'd say the meaning is actually fairly obvious. Either way, with not only 300 hits in the ngrams and not in any source, I doubt it's an established term to the degree you could say it means one over the other. |

Comments: | I think it's important to note who the receiver is when using くれる. I don't know if it's necessary to mention the irregular imperative form. I've added a sense that we were missing. It's sense 2 in daijr and daijs. I found an example in the Tanaka sentences: "彼は連中に有り金を全部くれてやった". The existing sentences are incorrectly tagged. The sense 1 and sense 3 sentences should be (new) sense 3. We want "〜をくれる (not てくれる) examples for sense 1. It would be good to have non-imperative examples for sense 3. |

Comments: | The word "national review" doesn't appear to be used for this kind of referendum outside Japan so I think it's ok to just describe what this means in the context of Japan, as nikk and daijs do. (by not mentioning "other legal matters") It's a little wordy but I don't think it's "encyclopedic", it's still denser and has less info than any of the kokugo entries. Comments: | Marcus, what I meant is that 社民党 is always a name. I thought that you were suggesting that it can also be used in a more generic sense (e.g. "I want to join a social democratic party"). |

Comments: | I think "社民党" is just an abbreviation for "社会民主党" (rather than a general term for social democratic parties). We probably don't want a sense for every party with 社会民主党 in its name so I'd stick with one sense. |

Comments: | It looks like this should be a godan verb. The 懸かる ending is in JMDict as a godan verb. Looking at the common forms 神懸かった and 神懸かっている in the jitsuyo entry Marcus referenced, plus the fact that る is preceded by something from the あ column also make it seem like this is a godan verb. |
