|
Comments: | As with ボンベ, this is not wasei as it's not a construction. It's certainly not a straight translation of Kocher, but then 外来語 are often that way. コッヘル seems to be used for portable stoves, or cooking equipment, or both. The forceps are named after Emil Theodor Kocher. Should that go in a note? |

Comments: | 和製 means "made in Japan". It's usually applied to 外来語 that are constructed from whole or partial terms in another language. Bombe/ボンベ is not a construction, so it can't be tagged as "wasei". I agree that it's a mistranslation/transliteration of the German Bombe. FWIW in French a "bombe" is a spray can. |

Refs: | GG5 splits "activity" into 1) "然や生物が生き生きと動くこと" and 2) "組織や人がある目的を持って活発に働くこと daij and nikk don't split like this but instead have a pretty simple sense 1: "① 活発に動いたり、働いたりすること。 「さかんに-する火山」 「夜間-する動物」 「組合-」" "1 活発に動くこと。ある動きや働きをすること。「暖かくなって虫が活動し始めた」「活動範囲が広い」「火山活動」" "① (━する) はたらき動くこと。活発に行動すること。 |
|
Comments: | This was trickier than I thought. The GG5 sense split is maybe not all that helpful. The words listed are for the better part the same in both senses. I don't know if the extra info I added is really helpful, but it's an attempt to give the definition a little more context. |

Comments: | We have a 気になる, but the "feel like doing" sense is #3. We also have "気になれない don't feel like doing; can't bring oneself to do; can't face" as an entry. I want to put this "out there" for consideration. I wouldn't bother if it were obviously a case of 気になる, but it's very much locked into sense 3, so the meaning is not obvious. |

Comments: | I hadn't realised Pokemon dated from the mid 1990s. The term probably has a (small) life outside the game scene. May as well add it. |

Comments: | Wording could be improved. This tactic was famously used during the Chinese 三国 and Japanese 戦国 periods. The kokugos I checked don't contain this word; instead they have 火計 (ひばかり), a kind of pottery. I don't feel confident enough to submit an entry for that one myself though. |
