The panel members used to use this expression a lot on the (now cancelled) reality tv show "Terrace House" when talking about participant's love interests, oft. as 矢印が(人に)向く if I remember correctly. https://mdpr.jp/news/1891128 【テラスハウス・新東京編】意外な矢印が続々判明 全員絡む恋愛模様にスタジオ歓喜「これがテラハか!」 https://porori1412.tokyo/2019/12/31/teraha-ep26-netabare/ 今回の見どころは「多国籍新メンバー3名入居‼矢印が向いたのは??」 Like that last site implies, I think the origin of this expression is the ドラマ "relationship charts" over characters and their love interests etc., which very commonly appear on said ドラマ's websites (and perhaps elsewhere). Here's an example: https://www.ktv.jp/kekkondekinaiotoko/index.html#chart (plenty more if you google for 相関図 ドラマ) |

Comments: | One more counterpoint to myself you might also consider: どう仕様も無い[rK] all else [sK]. This provides all of the "reasonable" kanji for the entry (如何 excluded). I find that it can be easier to understand a long string of kana when you unambiguously understand the associated kanji form, even if the kanji are not ordinarily used. |
