I'll repeat what I said before. I don't see how this can be tagged as an abbreviation when none of the dictionaries (kokugos or JEs) have an エキストラクト entry.
The etymological notes in the kokugos make it quite clear that エキス is an abbreviation of "extract", not エキストラクト.
By having an abbr tag, we're saying that エキス is the shortened form of エキストラクト, which isn't true.
エキストラクト is also used in Japanese but it came later.

reopening.  see comment below regarding frequency of noun usage.  i'm not sure i agree.  in the tanaka examples, we have 7 sentences that match 互い; one is an incorrect parsing of おたがい.  of the remaining six: 2 are adj-no, 2 are adv (with ni), 2 are noun.  however, we already have a separate entry for 互いに.  all of gg5's many examples are 互いに or 互いの except for two

The JEs have 正面に as "in front", "to the front", etc. You can see it being "to the fore" as in that sentence. Is it really another sense, or just sense 1 being used as an adverb?

I don't think that usage is exclusively as 
正面から, but also as 正面に, etc. Here's a 
sentence from google books: "しかし、「道

I think this sense should be recorded
