Jim reverted some changes I feel are important to keep, namely how much his counter counts depending on the object.

I do want to discuss this further but that discussion probably belongs on the mailing list, so I'll approve this for now.

I really didn't think this through when I replied to Marcus, but on reflection I think I agree with Robin that having an explicit mention of "counter for" in the glosses is the best way to go. 
I did a quick count and of the approx. 118 entries with "ctr" as a PoS, 94 have the word "counter" in them, so it's pretty much the default style.
I'm proposing to put back the way it was, with minor changes.

I feel quite strongly that "counter for" should stay. Many people don't pay attention to the PoS labels and won't notice that the counter senses are actually counters, especially on websites/apps that don't clearly divide the senses by part of speech (WWWJDIC, for instance).
I think it's better to be explicit.

I'd keep them all. And, yes, "ik" for ウォーキングクローゼット - it gets plenty of hits.

we're in a kind of weird zone where this isn't actually a quote either (in the sense that macarthur didn't say this in japanese...)  the english is the quote.  the japanese (which is what the PoS is supposed to indicate) is just a translation.

but i'd agree that 'quote' is enough and in this case probably better than 'proverb'.  wikipedia calls it a "catchphrase"

I wonder if it's necessary to have both "quote" and "proverb" on one entry.
Lot's of old proverbs can be attributed to someone but we don't tag them as quotes.
For relatively recent proverb-like quotes like this, maybe "quote" is enough.

恒等 is not included in any dictionaries, and the usual term for identity in maths is 恒等式. However it appears in the Unidic morpheme lexicon with a tag of 形状詞 which means "adjectival noun" in their classification, and it is part of many recognized compounds such as 恒等写像, 恒等変換, 恒等関数, etc. with the meaning of "identity". It should be included here, both for its prefix role, and to limit mis-parses in text-glossing.
