	Comments:	This doesn't appear to be an adverb. When it comes before a verb, it's always followed by に. I don't see any evidence for the "completely" sense but plenty for "damaged". See examples above. I'm not sure why ギタギタ was removed. It's used in the same way. But now there's overlap with 2276380.

	Comments:	Wasn't 100% sure so asked on J/SE. The answer as well as one of the chiebukuro links does suggest ギタギタ and ギッタギタ as alternate forms, some sources saying ギッタンギッタン is stronger (the chiebukuro post but not the J/SE answer). Also, at the risk of being pedantic, I don't think Vinegar in Chrono Trigger meant messing, he's quite the enemy. Video games, very serious, triple attack. More seriously, the 'complete victory' metaphorical meaning might be hard to guess from 'mess' alone, though they are linked. The J/SE post also suggests that the main meaning is completeness or excessive degree, so 無茶苦茶 sense [2] and 'do someone over' as English equivalent (けちょんけちょん is cited as synonym). Last edit for me since I can't check the offline references.
