Comments: | I agree with Marcus. 厚い壁 is not an adjective. Eijiro have just used it to explain the meaning of the rather obscure English word "pachydermous". It doesn't make much sense to flip it around and say "厚い壁の" means "pachydermous". I think that in cases like this (simple A+B constructions where the literal meaning is very obvious), it's better to have a lit. gloss as part of the figurative sense. To me it looks odd having a separate sense for "thick wall". |
