Comments: | The only dic which has the second sense is nikk, and it's example is from 1785. _ I don't think 東日本 should be tagged as "ktb". We don't tag 西日本 as ksb, but col. That said I wouldn't mind having Eastern/Western Japan dialect tags. (I think I've suggested it casually previously) nikk: "「日本言語地図」によれば、 ... 東北、関東では「おっかない」が使われている" https://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q1152398616 "「おっかない」は東日本方言です。糸魚川~天竜川ライン以東のことばです。東北地方は「おっかねー」になります。 「おっかまい」「おっかにー」などもあり。" |

Comments: | The original reason for the [nokanji] tag was signal that the reading wasn't to be associated with a kanji form. The old legacy EDICT format is generated that way. Obviously for these old ateji/gairaigo it got a bit messy. |

8. | A* 2022-07-01 03:20:09 Marcus Richert <...address hidden...> | |

Comments: | Recommend dropping "weight loss" gloss. === I don't like just deleting things other people have gone out of their way to add, so I'll just leave the remark. I'm sure GG5's glosses are usually very good, but I don't feel like "weight loss" is helping out here, especially in the J->E direction. The is the wikipedia headword for "emaciation". And it's already a relatively rare term(no one needs to find this on a search for "weight loss"). Google image search returns what one would expect. |
