I suspect the best solution will be to split the たまう and たもう versions of this and 
related entries into separate entries with their distinct pos tags.

Should we mark the たもう reading as not having a stem/ending boundary or conjugating? If we don't do so, some users or client software might 
pronounce it as タモウ or conjugate it as たもいます / たもえ.

As far as I know, only some words have the cross-boundary reading giving rise to a new combination of stem + ending:
【言う】いう→ゆう→ゆった
【酔う】えう→よう→よった

How about this for sense 3? I'm not sure we even need that sense. It's just a sarcastic use of sense 1. Daijs is the only kokugo that has it. "Souvenir" and "present" can be used in the same way in English.

when i do a google image search, the weapon hits appear to be coming pretty much entirely from chinese.  when i add a の onto the search to force it into japanese, they all drop out.  wikipedia suggests お殻打ち棒 for the weapon, but that gets very few hits

I wouldn't ordinarily take issue with お/ご- submissions that are in the kokugos, but this one is only in daijs with a rather specific definition (not just "time").
Of course, it's harmless, but in this case I'd question whether the daijs entry by itself is enough to warrant adding it (as least as a simple [pol] entry with the same gloss).

But usage-wise it's also "It's time　(to do something)." - "お時間ですよ", so "(your) time" needlessly narrows things down. I think 
the pol tag is enough. As for the entry possibly being pointless, OK, but we've agreed that common お/ご- entries that have entries 
in the kokugos have a place in jmdict.

I think it's healthy to be skeptical against including absolutely everything that's in daijs/daijr, but I would think the issue is more with entries that barely register online/super-rare archaicism, than extremely common but easily-picked-apart words like this one.
