As in English (apparently) a "sacrifice hit" usually means "bunt", not "fly".  However, by having "sacrifice hit" here, we allow the same ambiguous option ("probably hit", but maybe also "fly").

It would be odd to ever gloss this as "sacrifice fly", for that you would use 犠飛 or 犠牲フライ directly.

I almost don't want to xref 犠牲バント at all due to its relative infrequency, but it is explanatory (and is the wiki headword/"technical" term).

I agree that the Xのadjい are usually prenominal and inflect far less often than their equivalent Xがadjい brethren, but I think that where possible this should be reflected in their respective translations. Phrases like these ending in an adjective are more likely to be prenominal or sentence-ending. It's probably more a grammar point than something that should be tagged.
I'll close this for now to shorten the list.

I think this has been our preferred style for the past few years. It's what I always use. Leaving out "of a", "in", etc. can result in ambiguities.

Given the abbreviated style we usually adopt in dictionary entries, I really don't see how the addition of these 6 words improves the entry.

My first thought was it's obvious, but then on reflection I suspect it's worth having. All the JEs have it as their main example of 食い意地, and 張る is a bit opaque. Also 張って in some form dominates use of 食い意地. It's in a Tanaka sentence.
