日の目を見ない

1. [exp,adj-i]

彼の映画は日の目を見ることがなかった His movie didn't see the light of day.
彼の作品は日の目を見ぬままだった His works never saw the light of day.
  Comments:
Personally, I don't think it's necessary to keep "shelved"/"stifled". It's not a separate meaning. "To see the light of day" and "to be realized" work perfectly well for negative sentences (see examples above).
6. D* 2019-10-18 02:23:54  Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I'm keen to see the shelved/stifled meaning of the negative form retained somewhere. How about a second sense for the 日の目を見る entry along the lines of:
  <<in the negative>>
to be shelved; to be stifled; to remain obscure
Then this entry could comfortable be dispatched.
5. D* 2019-10-17 14:49:28  Marcus Richert <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I agree with Robin. The entry is messy too, with verb glosses mixed in with the adjective glosses.

Not sure where the "large part of" sense came from. It doesn't appear to correspond to any sense in the refs.
I've deleted that sense and moved sense 1 up. I've also created a new sense 2.
This affects all the sentences tagged as sense 2. Is it easy enough to reindex them (2->1)?

3. click "偉人伝" in the navigation bar
4. open the "第14章 長白の人びと 5 「3・1月刊」(2)" video

I did check to see if it was only in place names, and found it quite a lot in passages such as "朝鮮人民革命軍の密営が置かれた白頭山".
I won't lose sleep if it's dropped, but at the margin it's the sort of thing I'd rather have included than excluded. みつえい is probably how it's read in Japanese.

  Comments:
should this be merged with the existing はくとうさん enamdict entry? i have no idea how the 'rules' for merging work in enamdict. at a minimum, the はくとうさん entry should be changed to Mount Paektu (Korea)
