I quite agree, but it's something that will take a lot of effort solving. At present I don't think the bulk modification script I have doesn't
handle POSs, and tracking down proper-name entries is non-trivial. I'll think it over a bit.

We must have thousands of proper nouns in the main dictionary but only 25 of them are tagged n-pr.
I don't have a problem with the n-pr tag itself, but it looks odd having it on only a handful of entries.
For now, I think it's best we don't start changing [n] to [n-pr] on the odd entry here and there.

Either way it doesn't seem to be very common, I've 
attempted to find sentences of it being used like this

Sorry if I'm being thick, but that definition in Daijisen's entry for ハスラー :"３勝負師。賭博師。特に、プロの玉突き。" reads to me as: "gambler, gamester. Esp in professional billiards".
I don't get from it that 玉突き means a billiard player.

I think I agree with Robin.

Do we even need this? The literal translation ("at just the right time") is probably also the most common one. Also, those n-gram counts aren't exactly high. I would have rejected it if it were a new submission.
The fact we already have ちょうどいい as an entry makes this even less useful.

Personally, I don't think it's necessary to keep "shelved"/"stifled". It's not a separate meaning. "To see the light of day" and "to be realized" work perfectly well for negative sentences (see examples above).

I'm keen to see the shelved/stifled meaning of the negative form retained somewhere. How about a second sense for the 日の目を見る entry along the lines of:

but this is a j-e dictionary, and figuring out "what extremely common word" + "san" means should not be particularly challenging given the entries for 外人 and さん, and the gloss here is in fact copied from 外人, so it's hard to see what the entry really adds.  without checking, i'd say some of those other さん entries might be able to go as well

strongest argument for keeping this is that it's a politer alternative to 外人 which can sometimes be considered derogatory

I won't belabor the point if people don't think it's necessary, but the reason I think it's worth 
including is because on the one hand, attaching -さん onto various things like job titles is very 
common (e.g. 店員さん、駅員さん、おまわりさん, etc.), but this is the _only_ common -さん construct 
that affixes to a -人 noun. It's not normal -さん behavior, it's not what you'd expect if you 
weren't already familiar with this one expression.

I think I agree. With the さん there's a different nuance, but then there always is.
