I'll repeat what I said before. I don't see how this can be tagged as an abbreviation when none of the dictionaries (kokugos or JEs) have an エキストラクト entry.
The etymological notes in the kokugos make it quite clear that エキス is an abbreviation of "extract", not エキストラクト.
By having an abbr tag, we're saying that エキス is the shortened form of エキストラクト, which isn't true.
エキストラクト is also used in Japanese but it came later.

The [spec2] tag should not be used this way.
It is *not* a lower prio version of [spec1],
the way [ichi2] is a lower prio version of [ichi1].
Items with [spec1], [spec2], [ich1], [news1] and [gai1] are marked as common,
while items with [ichi2], [news2] and [gai2] are not.
So despite the "2", [spec2] is a first level prio tag.
This is a source of confusion, and few third-party apps and sites get this right.

つかる is in Koj 5th ed. as a kun reading. It's obviously rather marginal, but I'll add it to kanjidic.

i'm not sure it should be recorded.  it's not in daij, nor my kanji dictionary.  and kojien appears to have removed their kanwa jiten from newer editions.

regardless, 浸かる should get spec2 since the less common headword is tagged

Yes, i think "fitted with" is good, but i just wanted to leave a comment. i think the particles in that sentence are interesting. it is not a "kin no buresuretto" but a "kin ni hamatta", that is "emeralds embedded in gold (of the bracelet)", assuming i understand it right.

Shouldn't we add the go-on reading ゴン to KanjiDic?

I've been reading up on "zither" and it seems it's very widely used for plucked string instruments. Although "zither" is German it's from a Greek root; in fact the same root as "guitar". And it's used widely as a family name, so I guess I'll just have to accept it. "zither-like instrument" is too clumsy.

I'm going to close this and then reopen it to reduce the clutter. I intend to get to the broader issue of handling oddball variants, but it will be a while. I like RObin's comments about ありがーと and I'm tossing in some n-gram counts in that area. It's interesting how common ありがと is.

i agree, but i don't think it fits in enamdict and we have a history of letting these kinds of things in.

i think ideally all these bizarre orthographical variants would just be handled by some kind of software interface to the dictionary that allows for fuzzy matching
