This entry has an interesting history. It began pre-2000 as:

In 2007 Rene changed it to の下に, quoting Daijr/s  for the kanji and noting that it was "more idiomatic" that way.
Shortly afterwards Paul Blay added の許に and split the senses.
I've come around to the view that this is probably adequately covered by 2004390 (下/許/もと). I've reindexed that sentence to the 元/もと sense as Robin suggested, and I'll touch up 2004390 a little.

I also wouldn't mind dropping this.

The 15 sentences split between senses 1 and 2. None really reflect the sense 3 glosses, but some of the GG5 examples do. I think it's probably a worthwhile split, and I'll add something like the GG5 one as an example.

Apart from Daijisen, all my refs have 美妙 read as びみょう. Daijisen has both, but みみょう is an outlier. I don't think a merge is appropriate.
