Comments: | Eh, this is a tricky one. References divide and order the senses differently, so I don't really know which one to use as the standard. About sense 8: I based it on this sense in Daijisen > 5 時間的、空間的に間を隔てる。「一日―・いて行く」「一軒―・いた隣」 Not quite sure how to translate it. About sense 9 and 10: djs does mention attaching おく to masu-stem, but other references only mention attaching to te-form. I'm not very comfortable with this edit, but I hope it can lead to a proper edit. |

Comments: | Why wouldn't we count it's use in words that are already entries if we're talking about absolute usage? We have over 400 entries beginning with 小/こ. That alone makes it worthy of spec1, I think. If it's that productive, it also seems likely there's probably hundreds or thousands of similar words/constructions that aren't included in the dictionary. |
|
8. | A* 2019-04-26 17:49:25 Rene Malenfant <...address hidden...> | |
Comments: | not entirely sure i agree with this. despite it being called a 接頭 in most dictionaries, shinmeikai has it as 造語, and i feel like it is not particularly productive outside of words like 小皿 that we already have entries for. simply wanting something to "stand out" in comparison to other entries is not a valid reason for the tag, IMO. it should be about absolute frequency of usage. how often is this used as a productive suffix that could be added to entries that are not already in the dictionary? |
