Yes, my 1930s GG1(?) has "silent contempt". I agree the "No comment. We need more time" is poor. "Shunning" is a bit problematic too, although it may just work in some contexts.

  Comments:
Maybe the "contempt" bit is slightly more loaded than it has to be but I'm not really sure the New York Times article is on the ball
here. Based on the kokugo's/wa-ei definitions, I have a hard time understanding how something like "黙殺します" could be interpreted to
mean "No comment. We need more time." Googling a little for 鈴木貫太郎 黙殺 it seems that the issue might really have been a poor choice
of words on behalf of Suzuki (or the media describing the government's position?) rather than an actual bonafide mistranslation. The
whole story has the feels of an urban legend (though I could be wrong).
_
Looking at the examples in GG5 and prog especially, I don't see much of an issue with "shunning", if it's towards the end of the entry.

In the UK, Australia & New Zealand it's often a "market garden". I think in the US they call it a "truck garden".
The JEs also have "kitchen garden", which is really a term for a small domestic garden. Since the images for 野菜畑 are mostly for larger-scale operations, I omitted that.

gg5 says bumblebee, but the other refs disagree
koj and daijs define 花蜂 as 蜂 (bees and wasps) that feed on 花.
That is pretty much the definition of a bee; see the wikipedia article bee.

I'm just not sure secret industry code words are worth including in a dictionary unless they're very well known or have entered common usage.
The site above lists the following code words for cockroach: みのさん、しげるくん、太郎、花子、テラフォーマーズ、ぴかちゅう、五木、黒い隣人.
If we're keeping 太郎さん, I see no reason not to add the others as well. (But I'd much rather we had none of them).

I've said this several timea before but I
don't think it's an issue when one of the last
glosses in an entry doesn't exactly match the
register of the original word. "shit-eating
grin" is a pretty good translation, it's a
common English expression and will sometimes
be the best translation, if not every time.
doyagao is col if not vulg so it's not really
that much of a jump to begin with. It's also
good for reverse look-ups.

Very interesting. Could well be we've had the wrong one. The [uk] should probably come off here.
And 試しがない is probably worth its own entry. When I checked the (linked) Tanaka sentence "気の弱い男が美女を得たためしがない。 Faint heart never won fair lady. " with MeCab/Unidic it reported that the ためし was 試し. Food for thought.

The space was probably a newline character - caused by an incorrectly set "wrap" attribute on textarea elements (fixed in late 2021). It meant that line breaks were inserted whenever text wrapped to the next line (which often happened when editing on mobile devices).
