A bit more info. It is from https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/カトリーヌ・ド・メディシス

カトリーヌはマルグリットを彼女の意思から切り離し、二度と会うことはなかった。

This appears to be a translation of the English "Catherine cut Margaret out of her will and never saw her again" (at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catherine_de'_Medici). However, I guess it may be a mistranslation (translator not understanding the sense in which "will" is meant).
5. A 2018-06-04 04:32:48  Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I think it's incorrect to use for a testamentary will.
4. A* 2018-06-04 02:56:12  Marcus Richert <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
Are you sure it wasn't 遺志? Daijisen and Daijirin have a second sense in their 意思 entries but it concerns
"intent/intention" as a legal term, e.g. criminal intent.
3. A* 2018-06-04 02:37:59
  Comments:
I've seen this used as a translation of English "will" in the sense of a document stating what one wants to happen to one's possessions after one's death. This sense is missing here (or not explicit), but I'm not certain it's a correct translation.

i suggest that we follow all the other dictionaries in distinguishing between dried taro root = いもがら and taro root = ずいき. i have split accordingly. (daijr also suggests there is a sex toy made of taro stem that is also called ずいき, but other dictionaries and wikipedia have this as ひごずいき).

I don't think the constituent parts are just kanji - 月並み is a compound of two words, 魂柱 isn't. Surely "leg-pulling" is just as

Point taken. But the usage is idiomatic, though? "Not apparent from its constituent parts." Wouldn't it better to change the definition in

a single word cannot be an idiom. the tag for [id] says it is defined as "idiomatic expression". if an entry doesn't take [exp] then it can't take [id]

correct restriction is つきなみ; also applies to 月次 with that reading

Certainly not within the dictionary. It would be stretching things to have conjugations listed separately. In a morphologically heavy language like Japanese, where most of the verbs are very regular, I can't see any need for it.
I could potentially do it in WWWJDIC, but I have chosen not to. The exception is in the Text Glossing, where it is done by invoking rules. If you put in "乗っ取れる", it says:
Possible inflected verb or adjective: (potential or imperative)
乗っ取る 乗っ取る(P); 乗っとる 【のっとる】 (v5r,vt) to capture ...
I think that's about as far as one can go.

Thanks for the clarification. I was going to argue these senses shouldn't be included because it's a conjugation for only a limited set
of verb classes (一段 and する/くる?) and we don't have similar entries for -そう, -とう, etc. which should be equally valid... but I
realized these senses are actually included in daijs' and daijr's よう entries and we do actually have an entry for "た" ("indicates past
tense") in JMDict as well.
_
My preference would still be to follow GG5's example to not include these senses and also not have an entry for た, but I guess that'd be
a topic for the mailing list instead of the comment section of this one entry.
_
In the meanwhile, I've tried improve the 3 senses because I don't think the definitions/notes were very clear. I've moved the previous
glosses into usage notes and added actual glosses. To what extent the glosses are helpful, I'm not sure, but until the separate issue of
glossless senses are resolved, maybe this will do. I also moved the previous sense 1 to sense 3 as I think it's the least common aux-v
usage (if that's indeed the correct PoS).

use of the [obs] tag is confusing. it has variously been applied to "words that are old but not old enough to be [arch]" and "words that have been completely supplanted by some other word" or "government agencies that no longer exist". but i think we also decided it's not supposed to be applied to historical terminology

i looked at the list of stuff tagged as [obs] and it looks like a grab-bag. this seems to qualify as much as a lot of the crap that is [obs]

非の打ち所がない is (a) about 20 times more common, and (b) has a meaning which is not that obvious. 打ち所が悪い is not that common and unlikely to cause someone encountering it any trouble. I agree with Rene.

I meanT the first reference to be this:

打ち所が悪いと死ぬこともある. A blow to the wrong place [A misdirected blow] can be fatal.

It is on the same page but below.

I made the submission because the word 打ち所 is almost always paired with 悪い
except in the expression 非の打ち所がない
