For the record, I think the ngram numbers are slightly misleading because you wouldn't say 今日は最悪の日だった, only 今日は人生最悪の日だっ
た。etc. (confirmed with native informant), which is also part of why I question whether this really is a "true" adj-no. With this in mind, I think having
adj-na first is sensible.

To tell the truth, I've still not figured out what a "true adj-no" is yet (it's more complicated than I first thought) but I think I would consider this [adj-no]. 最悪の日 doesn't mean "day of the worst case" but rather "worst/terrible day". I'd put [adj-no] first for that sense.
Agree with the new [col] sense but I think "disgusting"/"repulsive" are more appropriate for 最低 than 最悪.
Adverbial usage is [col] so I think it needs to be a separate sense. Also cleaner this way.

I think 最悪の mainly refers to "worst case", etc., so I'm not really sure this is a what Robin would call a true adj-no. Either way, I
don't think adj-no should come first.
I merged sense 1 and 2 (the adv sense) and created a new sense for the more casual but very common usage (which can't be used
adverbially and essentially not as adj-no either, from my understanding)

I don't like splitting adj-na/n here because it's very inconsistent with how we usually format our entries. If we decided to always
split out the various PoS (like GG5 does) that'd be one thing, but as we haven't, I don't really see how this is a special case that
warrants splitting.
On glossing a single sense like an adj-na or n, I don't have a strong opinion but I don't have an issue with basing it on the most
common usage. I do feel this is something that needs to be properly formalize in our editing guidelines though, instead of relying
on editors being aware of "what we usually do in these cases."

9. A* 2022-04-27 23:56:08  Robin Scott <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I agree that "GW" shouldn't be a gloss. It's a clunky way of handling the issue.
See comments on 2718850 for discussion about abbr on acronyms/initialisms. Although I said an argument could be made for including it on Japanese-made acronyms, I'm not sure it's a good argument. For the sake of consistency it's probably best not to use abbr for any acronyms/initialisms. I note that daijr and daijs don't define "GW" as "ゴールデンウイークの略".
8. A* 2022-04-27 08:31:27  Marcus Richert <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I think we've decided that Japanese-made initialisms should get the abbr tag.
(though my actual preference would be to tag all initialisms as abbr)

Having "GW" as a gloss is useful for look-ups, but so would be including "KY" in the KY entry, because the exact same issue Jim described will come up there. ultimately it's a problem that I really don't think we should be handling on the gloss level.

The 〜 should be in the kanji field though, should it? Per previous discussion in the nakaguro entry (or whichever it might have been)
2. A* 2018-05-02 05:21:06  Jim Breen <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I see we need to do something about 〜 and ~, which most fonts have looking identical.
〜 (this one) comes from the JIS 全角 special characters, and Unicode has it in the CJK block with a code of U301C, and the name "wave dash". My IME produces it when I type にょろ.
~ (entry 2415870) is from the special Unicode block of double-width characters where it has the code FF5E and the name "Fullwidth Tilde". Originally it had the "other" 〜, but I think I deleted the wrong one in 2015.
FWIW several references give 波ダッシュ as the Japanese gloss of "tilde".
While it might be good to have a single entry for the lot, I think perhaps there should be two:
- one for 波ダッシュ/なみダッシュ/tilde/wave dash/
- one for 〜 and ~ with the reading of にょろ and the gloss of tilde/wave dash.
- and our ティルデ entry too.

In the panel, three middle-school boys are talking next to the school pool. Tamaki, the main character, is horribly embarrassed that his girl-friend just saw him in his swim suit. At that age, of course, he's
not exactly a prime physical specimen yet.
