I see 中辞典 only has "Britain" and ルミナス only has "Great Britain". Probably best to have both, in your order.
The ISO 3166 code is "gb", but the early Internet people decided to use "uk" for the domain naming.

Although often used synonymously with "United Kingdom", "Great Britain" technically refers to an island. Swapping order.
I'd actually be in favour of dropping "Great Britain" altogether (but keeping "Britain"). The latter usually does refer to the UK as a whole.

i'm not 100% opposed to pref, but i don't think [pref] is really correct, and if there's ever a case of an [unc], this is a near-perfect example of it

the problem with [pref] is that, by definition, a prefix ~~attaches itself~~ to an existing word to create a new word.

for example, ad+mixture=admixture.  does "ザ"/"the" function that way in japanese?  no.  in english, it is a preposition (a separate word that comes first) and in japanese, it is also a separate word/component that forms the first part of a compound ("the ...").

long story short, shinmeikai lists it as a （造語）. since i don't think it actually 'combines' with an existing word to form a new word, i don't think it can be called a "prefix", like "ad-", etc.

some more arguments why it could be pref: 

it can certainly be used in such a manner with Japanese 
words. I asked a native speaker for an example and got: "彼
女こそ、ザ・おふくろって感じやな" and I get lots of hits for ザ*って感じ 
on google including "ザ・作画崩壊って感じの画像くれ"　"テーブル・座敷・カ
ウンターの席がある、ザ・食堂って感じの店内。" "ザ・バカ！って感じの邦画教えてく
ださい。" "ザ・日本人って感じ"　"ザ・青春！って感じで 中高生が主人公の小説って

I went through the 124 of the most recent tweets for "掛
ける" (not かける,かけて,etc. - just "掛ける"). I skipped 
compound verbs like 喋りかける etc. when they showed up 
(twitter automatically filtered most of them out)
the results were something like this:

I've changed the order of the senses while looking at 
gg5 and daij, twitter usage, while also giving (a 
little) consideration to make the word easier to 
understand for beginners. Sorry for wreaking havoc on 
the example sentences, but I think it had to be done 
eventually anyway. I have not added any new senses 
(though there's plenty of add) and I only added more 
glosses to a few of them. There's several that I think 
would still need editing/expansion. "apply (an 
insurance)" esp. sticks out as one that needs to be 
expanded.

掛ける is a really hard word to get to grips with for 
beginners, because there are so many meanings. One 
English gloss that mostly covers several of them well 
enough is "to put (on)". I think we'd make word easier 
to wrap their heads around if we pushed "put" up to the 
top.

声を掛ける、話を掛ける was by far the most common usage of 
"掛ける" (in that particular surface form) on twitter. 
GG5 has this  in the middle and towards the bottom of "7 
【働きかける】 apply; administer; 【相手に作用を及ばす】 
extend; offer". daijs has "声を掛ける" in subsense ㋑ of 
sense 10, together with 電話を掛ける: "㋑送って相手に届かせ
る。「電話を―・ける」「言葉を―・ける」". daijr has it in a 
sub-subsense: "❸他にある作用を与える。他に影響を及ぼす。③  
言葉などによる働きかけをする。㋐  言葉を人に向けて発する。

I haven't added it anywhere because it's such a headache 
and most (if not all) of the usage should be covered by 
声を掛ける, but it'd be great if somebody else would take 
the plunge. It should probably be a new sense, is my 
thinking.

doesn't mean "the rabbits multiplied in the next few 
days", but it's maybe a little unsightly.

not sure if it's actually [uk], but it's [uk]ish.

Sorry, but I don't think the n-grams are misleading at all in such cases. 複合動詞 are usually treated as a single morpheme and hence as a 1-gram by the good morphological analyzers. I just checked 出かける in both MeCab/Unidic and Chasen/IPADIC and in both cases it was left as a single morpheme. Unidic has a huge collection of composed 複合動詞, many of which have 掛ける/かける as the V2 component. I think the actual results leading to flagging this particular かける as "uk" are pretty solid.

N-grams are misleading in this case. "かける" is part of words like "出かける" where it's a modifying verb. By itself it's usually written as "掛ける". At least in the specific senses like "multiply".

I think that's OK. Quite hard to test, and refs are a bit varied.

It might be worth adding another gloss that more clearly captures this usage but I'm struggling to think of one - 力を抜く is easier to translate as a phrase.

I can see the argument for keeping かいもん on this entry (as it's not really a separate word) but I don't like that it introduces unsightly restriction tags (if 買いもの and 買いもん are included as surface forms).
I think this is another illustration of how "hidden" readings/surface forms could be very useful. It would allow us to include -もん forms on other -物/-者 entries without adding any restr tags. I'd argue that even the reading doesn't need to be visible; what matters is that a -もん search takes you to the right entry.

I guess we haven't formulated an official rule on these, but the previous discussion was on this particular entry (and on a deleted 買いもん entry). かいもん is spoken language. it might seem rare in the ngrams because people don't write it out with much frequency, yet will still pronounce 買い物 as かいもん. It's super common in Kansai and probably all or most other western Japanese dialects as well (博多通りもん for example is one of FUkuoka's most famous omiyagegashi), and probably in parts of eastern Japan and even Hokkaido too. 物/者 can in many (if not all) commonly used constructions be pronounced もん. I think we should include it in more entries to demonstrate this. I don't think we should split them out because they are really just a different way to pronunciate the same word and as such they meet our 2/3 guideline.

I thought we were doing them on a case-by-case basis, and given the expressed interest in decluttering having two simpler entries didn't seem a bad move. I'd like to see the impact of similar handling of other 物 and 者 cases before attempting a general rule on ...もん forms.
Of course, we could just have かいもん as a [nokanji] reading, but that ignores that 買いもん seems to be slightly more common (and かいもん could also be referring to 海門 and 開門). With that many counts in the n-grams, I certainly wouldn't want 買いもん thrown away.

We've discussed this previously - I don't think -もん forms should be split off but kept with もの's, or each and every 物 and 者 entry could have a doppelganger もん entry (not that we include -もん readings in all of them, but we certainly could and probably should include them in more). I also think that we don't need to record the kanji surface form "買いもん" at all, and I don't think we actually need to include a note saying "かいもん is col". It's not as かいもの is a particularly formal word to begin with.
