The "approx." works fine. We moved to metric nearly 50 years ago. The beef is priced $N per kg.
4. A* 2023-10-21 05:53:36  Brian Krznarich <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I would suggest we pick one, either "3.03 cm", or "approx. 3 cm". I personally find that latter more appropriate in most cases this dictionary would be used. "approx." warns the user that more digits are available if they need to do precise calculations in 寸.

This is a common issue in jmdict with numerical conversions, and there are probably other terms worth visiting, but I'll test the waters with this one.

The U.S. will never move to metric because $3/pound for beef is much simpler than $3 per 0.454kg...

I agree that the meaning is pretty much the same as sense 4, but the examples Marcus gave, and which I've encountered often, are not really adverbs or "before a verb in negative form". I feel trying to fit this particular usage into sense 4 would lead to an odd POS and clashing glosses.

The usual translation of 功徳/利益(りやく) is "merit".

"Merit is a force that results from good deeds done"
I don't think "grace" is a good translation for this because of the connotations of unconditional love. There's nothing unconditional

Since だ is explicitly listed as an equivalence, a reader will likely subconsciously infer that it is a copula regardless of how well they are acquainted with the term, I will agree it is not strictly necessary.
However, I think it should be included for the sake of consistency rather than necessity: なり is ラ変, it is a 助動詞, and it is a copula; to not include all of them is arbitrary and undermines the purpose of the tag: if things will not have a tag when it applies, why have a tag at all?

あほ is def. more common than あほう in modern speech.
Not listed as such in daij but today, I think it's fair
to say this is mostly [ksb], even if あほう might have
historically been used elsewhere (just guessing based on
the daij entries).
_
Actually they did a pretty in-depth survey on the show 探
偵ナイトスクープ in I think the 90's to see where people
stop saying あほ and begin to say ばか. あほ turned into
たわけ somewhere in Gifu (they found the "exact" border
between two houses somewhere in Sekigahara I think). It
started as a segment on a single show but they went on
to create a two-three hour TV-special and even produced
a map/poster detailiing their finds:

removed sens as ばか isn't tagged with it. I've heard the
claim that to Tokyoites, あほ is more hurtful than ばか,
but it's the other way around in Osaka.

https://all-guide.com/ag001131/
  Comments:
Added ミーちゃんハーちゃん with consideration for みーちゃんはーちゃん* and ミーチャンハーチャン** (see bottom of comment)

ミーちゃんハーちゃん actually gets the most hits on ngrams but I put it second because みいちゃんはあちゃん seems to be the definitive origin for this term and consistently the first to show up on online definitions. There is an album titled ミーちゃんハーちゃん from 1982 that may be contributing to the difference.

*みーちゃんはーちゃん: This one gets a fair number of hits on ngrams compared to みいちゃんはあちゃん but I was unable to find any usage of it online, including even a single site that listed it as an alternative spelling. Therefore I did not add it to the entry.

**ミーチャンハーチャン: Returns almost 1/4th as many results as みいちゃんはあちゃん. I did find examples of this being used to mean faddist/follow-the-crowd type, although it seems to be a largely outdated spelling. Below are two examples of it being used:
https://yab.yomiuri.co.jp/adv/wol/campus/trendeye_0903.html
https://uchikoyoga.hatenablog.com/entry/20200314/1584173378

The judgement of an editor is better than my own so I added ミーちゃんハーちゃん as I felt confident about it and included the other two spellings in the references with explanation.

Even if 銃乱射 refers to a mass shooting 99 times out of 100, I don't think it's correct to say that they're equivalent. Very few people would describe the above incidents as mass shootings.
9. A* 2018-02-23 19:48:45  Marcus Richert <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
>Yes but 銃乱射 does not mean "mass shooting".
I think it does. It's all about how it's actually used,
isn't it? For the first 40 search results on Google, all
correspond to "mass shooting" much better than they do
to "shooting spree." I haven't been able to find a
single usage of the word where it doesn't refer to
several people being shot (and killed).
_
There's also not anything in the word "mass shooting"
that "implies many deaths." Wiki just defines it as
"mass shooting is an incident involving multiple victims
of firearms-related violence. The United States'
Congressional Research Service acknowledges that there
is not a broadly accepted definition, and defines a
"public mass shooting"[2] as one in which four or more
people selected indiscriminately, not including the
perpetrator, are killed or injured".
