I tried adding some more glosses to your second sense based on both daijs② and meikyo② but it ended up looking weird. daij's 「剣幕に圧倒される」 and meikyo's「雄大な景色に─される」 are really quite different, so I ended up adding one more sense. _ I think vs should probably come before n here based on the examples etc. in GG5 (which only has a ~する gloss), daij. |

Comments: | I would suggest we pick one, either "3.03 cm", or "approx. 3 cm". I personally find that latter more appropriate in most cases this dictionary would be used. "approx." warns the user that more digits are available if they need to do precise calculations in 寸. This is a common issue in jmdict with numerical conversions, and there are probably other terms worth visiting, but I'll test the waters with this one. The U.S. will never move to metric because $3/pound for beef is much simpler than $3 per 0.454kg... |

Comments: | The usual translation of 功徳/利益(りやく) is "merit". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merit_(Buddhism) "Merit is a force that results from good deeds done" I don't think "grace" is a good translation for this because of the connotations of unconditional love. There's nothing unconditional about Buddhist merit, you have to the good deeds to get it. |

Not listed as such in daij but today, I think it's fair to say this is mostly [ksb], even if あほう might have historically been used elsewhere (just guessing based on the daij entries). _ Actually they did a pretty in-depth survey on the show 探 偵ナイトスクープ in I think the 90's to see where people stop saying あほ and begin to say ばか. あほ turned into たわけ somewhere in Gifu (they found the "exact" border between two houses somewhere in Sekigahara I think). It started as a segment on a single show but they went on to create a two-three hour TV-special and even produced a map/poster detailiing their finds: https://cdn-ak.f.st- hatena.com/images/fotolife/c/casemaestro89/20170626/2017 0626221606.jpg _ removed sens as ばか isn't tagged with it. I've heard the claim that to Tokyoites, あほ is more hurtful than ばか, but it's the other way around in Osaka. |

Comments: | I agree with Robin; I think a Japanese term needs to be fairly well accepted in English to have the romanized form as the gloss. "okonomiyaki" would make the grade, but "wasei eigo" is not on the radar. I see the JEs say things like "English word or phrase coined in Japan" (GG5). That's not true - the point is that they're not real English. |

Comments: | Added ミーちゃんハーちゃん with consideration for みーちゃんはーちゃん* and ミーチャンハーチャン** (see bottom of comment) ミーちゃんハーちゃん actually gets the most hits on ngrams but I put it second because みいちゃんはあちゃん seems to be the definitive origin for this term and consistently the first to show up on online definitions. There is an album titled ミーちゃんハーちゃん from 1982 that may be contributing to the difference. *みーちゃんはーちゃん: This one gets a fair number of hits on ngrams compared to みいちゃんはあちゃん but I was unable to find any usage of it online, including even a single site that listed it as an alternative spelling. Therefore I did not add it to the entry. **ミーチャンハーチャン: Returns almost 1/4th as many results as みいちゃんはあちゃん. I did find examples of this being used to mean faddist/follow-the-crowd type, although it seems to be a largely outdated spelling. Below are two examples of it being used: https://yab.yomiuri.co.jp/adv/wol/campus/trendeye_0903.html https://uchikoyoga.hatenablog.com/entry/20200314/1584173378 The judgement of an editor is better than my own so I added ミーちゃんハーちゃん as I felt confident about it and included the other two spellings in the references with explanation. |

Comments: | 1st article: 0 dead. 2 injured. 2nd article: 1 dead. 0 injured. 3rd article: 1 dead. 2 injured. 4th article: 0 dead. 2 injures. -- Even if 銃乱射 refers to a mass shooting 99 times out of 100, I don't think it's correct to say that they're equivalent. Very few people would describe the above incidents as mass shootings. |

Comments: | >Yes but 銃乱射 does not mean "mass shooting". I think it does. It's all about how it's actually used, isn't it? For the first 40 search results on Google, all correspond to "mass shooting" much better than they do to "shooting spree." I haven't been able to find a single usage of the word where it doesn't refer to several people being shot (and killed). _ There's also not anything in the word "mass shooting" that "implies many deaths." Wiki just defines it as "mass shooting is an incident involving multiple victims of firearms-related violence. The United States' Congressional Research Service acknowledges that there is not a broadly accepted definition, and defines a "public mass shooting"[2] as one in which four or more people selected indiscriminately, not including the perpetrator, are killed or injured". |

Comments: | Charity is "a virtue", but it's a specific virtue, i.e. (well) charity, so "virtue" isn't a great gloss. Wouldn't "charity (in Christian theology)" or "(in Christianity)" be better/clearer than "charity (in faith, hope and charity)"? |
