Comments: | OK, I was quite missing the point. It's an expression for "tare AND sauce", and I see it's often part of たれ・ソース・ドレッシング. I've been misled before by ・ being both a word separator in 外来語 and the separator for lists of words. Perhaps for the benefit of people like me it should stay as "(exp,n) tare and sauce", but I really wouldn't object now if it went. |
|
7. | A* 2018-10-04 04:07:25 Marcus Richert <...address hidden...> | |
Comments: | But "たれ・ソース" is not a different way of writing たれソース but in these cases the same as saying "たれ&ソース". E.g. https://www.amazon.co.jp/たれ・ソースの基本とア% 83%AC%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B8571-%E5%AD%A6%E7%A0%94%E3%83%91%E3%83%96%E3%83%AA%E3%83%83%E3%82%B7%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B0/dp/4058003944 "たれ・ソースの基本とアレンジ571" This isn't a recipe book containing 571 recipes for "tare sauce", it's 571 recipes for various sauces, including dipping sauces (and other soy/mirin-based sauces that might be called "tare" rather than "sauce" in Japanese). I don't think this appears on packages, at least I've never seen it, and again, there's nothing on Google images. |

Refs: | It might be the case that it's much more common in handwritten Japanese than online. https://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q118149731 "私は急いでメモしないといけないときに、一種の略字として まだれ(广)の中に“K”や“O”を入れて「慶応」としたり、 ... こういう表記で、他に便利なのはありませんか? ... 事務所は事ム所だな。務はみんなムにしちゃう。" https://books.google.co.jp/books? id=KlYNMV9Ot0MC&lpg=PA430&ots=RhPIs9dLWH&dq=%22'%E4%BA%8B%E3%83%A0%E6%89%80%22%20%22%E5%8B%99%22&pg=PA430#v=onepage&q=%22 '%E4%BA%8B%E3%83%A0%E6%89%80%22%20%22%E5%8B%99%22&f=false "全く務の字が一寸むづかしい貸めに、軍なる片暇名でその務音を示し間に合せてみる" (1936) (149 unique hits on google books for 事ム所) If so, I think that strengthens the case to include it, but it's hard to look into of course. In general, we have included some pretty obscure kanji forms in plenty of entries. As long as they're properly marked as iK or oK, I don't think it's that much of an issue. Dictionary developers can decide for themselves how prominently (or not) they want to display these. |
