I've sat on this for a while (as has everyone else...) Frankly, I think it's best as the two senses Robin set up in 2018. The refs are divided but two senses seem most common.

I have unlinked that sentence from 同士. If you want to remove it from tatoeba, best do it yourself. It's one of the original Tanaka corpus ones.

I realize that the example sentences with the JMDICT entries are separately managed by the Tatoeba Project, and I don't know how they get associated with entries here, but I wanted to say that I think the sentence associated with this entry is unnecessarily homophobic, and I would encourage you to remove it.  Two male students sharing an umbrella... is that really "strange"?  Only if you have a very closed-minded view of appropriate male behavior.

I feel like pushback will come on removing "lean figure".  My argument is that "slim" is almost always the right J-E gloss. (or "weight loss" if the text is more elaborately massaged).

Sure, you won't get this entry if you search "lean", but you won't get it if you search "thin" either.  

The sankoku definition are:
1.  やせたからだ
2. 「ふとったからだを」やせたからだにすること

Either way, you have to have weight and then lose it.  For "lean" a person can always be lean.  For "slim" I grant that it's ambiguous, (I think someone can always be slim if they've been healthy all their lives), but there is a strong exercise/weight loss/health connotation to "slim" which seems to match this term. Having "lean" on a gloss here, to me, makes it appear less-specific than it actually is.

Hmmm. I must have pasted the wrong compound into my searches. I agree about 淫獣; manga is full of those sorts of concoctions.

also, i suggest no entry for 淫獣.  it seems like it would be like having an E-J entry for Autobots or Decepticons or something.  just take two pieces and glue them together to make a 'word' that sounds cool for your comic.  we already have entries for 淫 and 獣
