A native japanese speaker was so kind as to give me his thoughts regarding 破綻 in the context of my example sentence (from the prev. ref.), link above. 
Despite the added meanings appearing in some dictionaries, likely I had misunderstood what 破綻 meant in that context, and there is actually a third meaning for 破綻, from his example sentence: "「彼の話は破綻している」（日常会話では「筋が通っていない」と表現されます）".

i wouldn't implement the split as proposed, but we could split into 余;餘[oK] and 予 with xrefs between them for the shared sense.  i think it makes sense.

Really?  I think the 2/3 rule requires a split:
1. Kanji: {余, 餘[oK]}, Reading: よ, Meaning: "over; more than"
2. Kanji: {余, 予},     Reading: よ, Meaning: "I; me"
The two terms have only the reading in common. Kanji and meaning are both different. So this is 1/3, not 2/3.
Daijirin, Daijisen, Nikkoku all split.  Only Kojien does not split.

I've added this to the 高木 entry. Note that 髙 is not in any JIS standard; only in Unicode, so you wont get it in text-glossing, etc.

I noticed when searching for this one that the first kanji 
(髙) was completely dropped and it only searched for 木. The 
problem existed on both the top page and the text glossing.
