"そう言われたら通じるけど、使わないかな" |
|
Comments: | だく・だかれる has an ambiguity in it, it means both to carry (a baby) and to hug without carrying (even if だく by itself, outside of compounds, isn't frequently used with that 2nd meaning). In the case of 抱っこ, this ambiguity isn't really there, to my understanding. "Hug" does maybe to a small extent have the same ambiguity but I don't think including it adds much, but distracts some. I can't speak as to what was happening in the quoted manga. The typical [chn] word for "hug" is ギュー or ギュッ. |

Comments: | What about dropping 接続 notes entirely? They belong to grammars instead of dictionaries. Also, the kana-based traditional analysis is unnecessarily complicated. The term 未然形/imperfective form is ambiguous in case of godan and sahen verbs while the term "-nai stem" incorrectly selects the し form of sahen instead of さ required by れる. I would prefer phonological analyses like "godan -u → -areru (-wareru after vowel), ichidan -ru → -rareru, kuru → korareru, suru → sareru", but that's already in the conjugation tables |

This is not the same thing, so that's why I put it in second place. Could still be misleading. |

(We have similar issues with entries where the reading can contain っ for emphasis.) To be frank, I find it hard come to a firm conclusion here. I suspect it's a case where strict 2/3 can be bent a little, but I could go the other way too. |
