Comments: | Doesn't solely refer to cars. Also, I think there are two senses here. The first is "car model" (like Ford Focus). The second is "type of vehicle". For an example of this second sense, here's the first sentence from jwiki's article on (motor) scooters: "スクーターとはオートバイのうち、運転者の足元にステップ状のフロアを持ち、そこに足を乗せて運転する車種の総称である". I also found this (from the link above): "自動車保険で「車種」といえば、普通乗用車や軽四輪乗用車、原動機付自転車といった「車の種別」のことになる" |

Comments: | Used when referring to 実験台. When a listener does not understand the word プラッツ, the speaker invariably switches to using 実験台 instead. In common use in at least some Japanese research laboratories. (Currently a foreign graduate student in a public university laboratory) Presumably from German Platz or similar? Used to refer to the lab bench or area for experiments, but seems to most specifically refer to a laboratory fume hood (regardless of whether the ventilation function is actually used). If searched online, the reference link provided shows the same usage in the same environment at an unrelated university. Searching also turns up some people using プラッテ instead. http://from-toyama.jugem.jp/?eid=3 https://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q1311302583 |

Comments: | Wiki defines supremacism as "the worldview that a particular age, race, species, ethnicity, religion, gender, social class, ideology, nation, or culture is superior to other variations of that trait, and it advocates that those who identify with it dominate, control, and subjugate those who do not." This is not the same thing, so that's why I put it in second place. Could still be misleading. |
