Actually I'm not sure.
It is easier to gloss the [adj] sense.
"unanticipatedly" and "unforeseenly" would be rather awkward.
I'd be happy to revert to edit no. 1.
3. A* 2017-07-09 01:29:26  Robin Scott <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
I'm sure I've edited plenty of entries with a separate [adv] sense but I guess you're right; it's not really necessary here.
Given that all the JEs lead with adverb glosses, we should probably put it back to how it was. Adverbial use is far more common.

全てを滅ぼすこと。全てを死なすこと。皆殺しにすること。根こそぎにすること。
  Comments:
Both current glosses look like the elimination of people(I know annihilation can work both ways). The most natural gloss for 殲滅力 seems to be "destructive power".

"to destroy" is actually more common than "to annihilate" or "to exterminate" on reverso.

Moved "annihilation" to the front. It is better at capturing "things and people", and also seems more common as a gloss.

Had "(complete) destruction" or "(total) destruction". (or absolute, or complete & total). I'm not sure any of that is necessary with the accompanying glosses.

I don't know where GG5 gets "〔数取りの〕 a tally" from.
The only definition of "tally" that's valid here is: "a piece of wood scored across with notches for the items of an account and then split into halves, each party keeping one", which has nothing to do with counting.

The verb is not acting prenominally here. It's "昼夜を問わず、営業する". "昼夜を問わず営業" is not a single unit.
As you say, -ず is equivalent to -ないで and simply means "without...".
Contrast with ぬ, which is an older form of -ない and *can* be used prenominally (e.g. 止まらぬ株価下落)
You can't say "止まらず株価下落".
