Comments: | Amen, you didn't support your contribution with any references so I checked two major 国語 dictionaries and based my glosses on the following definitions: Daijrin: "目が見えるようになること。また,見えるようにする。「―手術」" Daijisen: "よく見えなかった目が、よく見えるようになること。また、よく見えるようにすること。「開眼手術」" --------- I see now that Kojien has "眼を開くこと" in addition to the above so I've added a gloss to reflect that. Please always cite your sources. I'd also advise against using eijiro as a primary source. It's full of odd terms and translations. "開眼能力", for instance, gets next to no real hits online. |

Comments: | I'm not sure it is the most common sense. As a predicate adjective, definitely, but 最高 is used in all sorts of contexts. Most of the JE examples are for the "highest"/"maximum" sense. To me, it feels more natural to lead with that sense. All the JEs do. |

Comments: | "best" is the more common sense so it should lead. as for 2, I don't think it should begin with "most" , not sure it should be included at all. mk: ①もっとも高いこと。「─気温」 |

Comments: | I think むうっと comes from an unabridged edition of Nikkoku. I'm not seeing it in my edition (or the one on Kotobank). Given the low counts, I think we can make むーっと and むうっと search-only. I assume that the unabridged nikk is also the source of the "slowly (exhaling smoke)". I suggest dropping it and replacing it with the "力を入れて,唇をとじるさま" sense in daijr (and nikk). |
