As a する verb, it's used in much the same way as 溶解. The prenominal usage is so much more common that I think it's worth having separate senses. |

Comments: | I really doubt that wiktionary entry, especially the English glosses. Although the term is not uncommon (~6000 in the n-grams), it's not in any major JE or JJ dictionary. The only hit 遺宝 gets in the KOD collection is リーダーズ+プラス, where it's in the Japanese gloss for reliquary: "聖骨[遺宝]箱". Now you don't put bequests in reliquaries. Googling for 遺宝 and looking at images brings up heaps of treasures and historical items, and books with names like 戦国大名の遺宝. There are museum displays labelled ブルガリアの遺宝, etc. etc. I've taken a shot at a better gloss. PS: I don't think a 遺宝箱 is a "reliquary"; they just have bones, etc. from saints. |
