Comments: | The two senses have different meanings. "Dead heat" refers specifically to a situation where two or more competitors finish at exactly the same time. I don't think the sports tag is necessary here. It's not jargon. I wouldn't use the sports tag for Esports-related terms but that's something that could be discussed. I can't imagine that there are many Esports terms we'd want to add. |

[the fact that the difference of the winner among other competitors is very narrow? or the fact that a draw is declared since a clear winner cannot be identified?] follow-up question: does the esports related terms can be considered into sports field? |

Comments: | Daijr/s lists a regular noun sense so I thought I should add it. Hard to translate, though. The "inning" sense is not a counter (although it often functions like one). Sense 4 is something I see in colloquial Japanese all the time. It often appears as a suffix, as in 神回,鬱回 (see refs), but it can also stand on its own, e.g. 名探偵コナンで京極真の初登場の回 - "the Detective Conan episode where Makoto Kyogoku makes his first appearance". The Islam sense is definitely the most obscure so I put it last. |
