Well, JMdict/EDICT has only had げんほう, because that was in 大辞林. My other 国語s don't have it.
Happy to accept げんぽう as the first reading, but I think げんほう should stay, if only because of 大辞林.

By "I believe this was correct before," what I meant was 
that I think that WWWJDIC previously had the correct 
pronunciation. I checked with a second native informant who 
was as certain as the first that げんほう is not correct. 
These are both language-oriented translator-type people. 
Admittedly, they are both under 40. In printed sources, a 
typo is always a possibility.
