I checked the Wikipedia articles of a few well-known beat 'em up games and none of them are described as 格闘ゲーム. The name for this genre in Japanese is usually ベルトスクロールアクションゲーム. None of the www image results for 格闘ゲーム are beat 'em ups either. |
