OK, I'm proposing a split. It will be consistent with our treatment of ねだり and ゆすり, which are separate entries.
There are some odd things: only ねだる is in the Ichiman (ichi1) set, only ゆする is in GG5 and my other JEs. The 10 examples in Tanaka are all of ねだる.

"tease" is rather old-fashioned, and best removed.
I suspect this entry would be best split into two, as the overlap is slight. I'll approve this, then reopen it as someone may want to comment on a split.

Oops, I just noticed I wrote "reading" but meant "kanji".

IMO the qualification is redundant. It's also used as a noun, but 線形[型]独立性 seems to be preferred. Also, the second reading, which is used on the Japanese wikipedia is rare both on the www and in books. It's not in kenkyuusha either.
