If it is an English onomatopoetic word that has been borrowed into Japanese, then I suppose it should not have the [on-mim] tag.

According to Google books ngrams tick-tock is the most comon form nowadays,
while tick-tack was the most common form 100 years ago.

1. [n] [arch]
▶ newborn

  Comments:
i am rather sure that just doing a google image search gets the reading wrong.
see for instance, which refers to livestock and gets the reading さんし:
http://dictionary.goo.ne.jp/jn/90825/meaning/m0u/
likewise for this entry regarding litter size:
http://yomikatawa.com/kanji/産子数

i will add a separate entry
