| Comments: | I don't understand how did author of this entry manage to translate the kotobank definition ”戦場で使う矢” as "Used arrow, collected from battlefield"... It clearly means arrow (for use on a battlefield). Am I missing something here? |

| Comments: | As I understand it, it's a combination of name/signature and reign name. It's the equivalent of what the Brits call a "privy seal", and since the 新和英大辞典第５版 translates it that way too, I'm happy to stick with it. |

| Comments: | Does this English translation show that it includes both the signature and the seal? This expression is used for example to read the a law proclamation（法律の公布） or to publish it the official daily gazette. Gyomei is used instead of pronouncing/writing the actual name(諱) of the Emperor. Gyoji is for the seal of the emperor. Thank you for confirming. |
