| Comments: | As the chiebukuro discussion (above) shows, it's hardly recognized in Japanese, and may indeed be a mistaken/jokey form of めちゃめちゃ or むちゃむちゃ. Also it's pretty uncommon as a 擬態語. I think I'll just drop it, and it can be revived if some authoritative information comes up. |

| Comments: | Thanks for posting the example. Before adding this to the dictionary we need more evidence than just a single example. The translation "sheepishly" is possible, but so is for instance "mumblingly". It is a bit confusing that according to the ngrams もちゃもちゃ is often used with 食べる. I think we should leave this open for a while and see if anyone comes up with something. |

As context, the girl Kouko had just made a fool of herself in front of everybody with a sort of panic attack. Nonetheless, if you think this one is too rare, that's your call.
