The second meaning seems to come from the 北大金葉祭(こんようさい). It seems to be a festival celebrating the golden leaves of the Gingko trees planted inside the university of Hokkaido campus. And it's pronounced こんよう, as you can see here: http://www.hokudai.ac.jp/gakusei/2012/10/-10002000.html


So, I think that the second meaning should probably go unless there's some additional evidence.
