the images for that word primarily show the Hotchkiss variety.
We could (a) have two entries, effectively ignoring Daijirin,

sense limited to ステップル. Suggestions?

In Japanese, a "ステップル" is a fixture which attaches
electrical cables to wooden building materials, so it's
debatable whether to include the general word "staple" as
a translation for this. The normal "staples" used to
attach pieces of paper together are not called by this
name.

"VVF cable" is fake English, although I'm not sure it
qualifies as wasei-eigo. This form of cable is the
absolutely standard form of electrical cabling used for
wiring homes etc. in Japan, but it's not called this
outside Japan.
