I don't think the sense in the daijs ref is covered so far, and I believe it's the same sense as in the form "今に通じる". E.g.:
"今に通じる大師の教え"
"中学生の頃の感想は今に通じるか？"
I don't see anything in my JEs that covers this, and I'm not sure what a good gloss would be (particularly that would also cover the first example from daijs).

GG5, 新和英中辞典, ルミナス (Daijr just says: "通ずる に同じ。"

They really can't be merged as in each case they derive from distinct kanji (辯, etc.) which have all simplified to 弁.
Do we want a 4th 弁/べん entry (this one doesn't really belong in any of the other 3), or do we do a messy merge, perhaps with those old kanji as comments?
