I have encountered this with a consistent hiragana spelling in Takemiya Yuyuko's books.  As a pseudo-verb with foreign origin, this should probably always be done in katakana, but apparently it is getting absorbed slowly into the mainstream, with people forgetting the English origin of the word.  Maybe.
