Hi, if this (as I assume) refers to baseball, it would be good to mention so, or give a bit more info, since "batter on deck" is a term unknown to many people.

Not really such a "bummer". The translation was only a one-liner, so there was 
not a lot of context to go on, and as crowd-sourced translators, we are 
anonymous to the client. Anyway, I learned something, and best of all, I was 
able to add to EDICT a definition that isn't in the commercial JE dicts ;-)

Bummer. Daijr seems to be suggesting that too, but the JEs are all silent.

This is another case where the client complained that I got the 
translation wrong. Here is what he wrote:
別納の意味合いが支払を分けるという意味ではなく、納品が分かれるという意味です。
4/15に第1便の納品があり、＃1178のみ5/10に納品日がずれるという意味合いでお願いします。

Hi, this strikes me as an odd entry if its meaning is as literal as the definition says. I wonder if it is included because it has an idiomatic meaning, but that idiomatic meaning was somehow overlooked when the definition was written (or it was incorrectly assumed that the idiom would be the same in English).

It was hard to find much info on this word. It looks like it probably comes from a contraction of この畜生.　It's part of the title of Ken Noguchi's book １００万回のコンチクショー, which I saw translated as "A Million Curses", and I found it in a book where a character is muttering frustratedly to himself, which is in line with the first reference link, where someone describes it as a curse word you say to yourself, rather than at someone else.

The only source I have (which I should have quoted) is Unidic. It maps かち割る to 搗ち割る:
かち割る	カチワル	カチワル	搗ち割る	動詞-一般	五段-ラ行	終止形-一般
Seems plausible, but obviously rare.
