I don't see 荒業 as this sense in any other dictionary, but I just happened across it used this way. Our two options seem to be:
1. Lack of support from other dictionaries is considered reason for [iK] (which is what I've done tentatively)
2. Combine this entry and 1671400 (which is what I actually lean towards). In that case, I believe we'd want the kanji and meanings as follows:
荒業;荒技
[1][n][荒業]
  physical labor; physical labour
[2][n]
drastic move (e.g. hold or strike in martial arts); power technique; display of power

https://www.tokyoprojuku.com/2019/01/18/絶賛/ 本来、「絶賛」という言葉の意味は、「この上なくほめること」「賛美すること」(広辞苑より)。
「絶賛、○○中~」は、「只今、真っ最中」という意味を伝えるために使っているわけですが、本来の意味からすると、この使い方は相応しいとはいえないということになるのですね。
  Comments:
Came across "絶賛勉強中". It seems the 絶賛 is just adding intensity here. Sense 1 doesn't help at all in understanding this example.

礫 is an ancient typo. Totally the wrong kanji. Not the one in GG5, which I mis-read in 2013.
With the 礫刑/磔刑 error removed, we could consider merging 1570050 here.
I think there are really two senses here - the original Japanese one, then the one when the term was adopted by Christians.

If I'm understanding the refs correctly, this is quite different than the Western concept of a crucifixion, in which a person might be nailed or tied to a cross and left to die. In the Japanese variant, they were tied, then stabbed multiple times by spears (or spikes).

  Comments:
Prog and ALC also claim "notions store" and "haberdashery" as translations. However, those seem to be stores selling small items used in sewing, which doesn't fit with the Wiki explanation or Google image results.
