Hi, a request for a small technical adjustment:

In "Text Glossing", 車エビ (i.e., when using the katakana that many people use with animals) brings up this information:

     車 【くるま】 (n) (1) car; automobile [snip ...]
    エビ : 海老(P); 蝦; 蛯; 鰕 【えび(P); エビ(P)】 (n) prawn; shrimp [snip ...]

Rene, that note comes under the 3rd sense. There's no need to list (or even mention) ぱん because it's merely a rendaku reading.

ばん, however, is the only valid reading for 版 (regardless of what comes before it) when used as a suffix in the first sense. Daijr even has an entry for ばん which redirects to はん (版).

If I can't convince you to keep it in the list of readings, a note like the one I've written is an acceptable compromise.

We now use [suf] for "after the masu stem" senses. aux-v is for auxiliary verbs (marked as 補助動詞/補動 in the kokugos). 切れる should be updated.

I really don't think we can expect our users to understand that "as たって" (or "as ~たって") is supposed to refer to a verb in the past tense +って. I think we should be explicit.

Also, I think we should get rid of the たって entry, even if it's in the kokugos. I don't think it makes sense in a wa-ei dictionary. I'd much rather we covered that use here. I don't think anybody encountering [past tense verb]+って is likely to arrive at that entry rather than this one.

__
I think "indicates supposition" was a bad take (it was mine).

Should this be [ichi1]?
I guess that when 逸れる was split,
the tag was carried along to both それる	and はぐれる,
but it might suffice to have it on それる.
Does the original source for the tag specify the kana?

I suspect it's being read as のりのがす.
I just want a home for 乗り逃がす (which came up in a Tatoeba sentence). I could merge it into the 乗り逃す as an "io", or have it here and xref. (I like having fairly full 形容動詞 coverage.)

ah, wait. comment above was about 乗りにがす. many more real google hits for 乗り逃がす. but given the confusion between のがす and にがす, are people actually reading 乗り逃がす as のりにがす?
4. A* 2013-10-28 01:35:07  Rene Malenfant <...address hidden...>
  Comments:
with only 12 real google hits, i kind of question this one. i think it may be an incorrect usage (should be のり~の~がす) modeled after the sound pattern of 取り逃がす. also possibly based on reading confusion between 逃がす and 逃す. probably not common enough to be worth capturing, IMO.
