I have tended to regard the above in terms of quantity and the following in terms of size.

最小 【さいしょう】 (n,adj-no) smallest; least; (P)

It is clear from Google images that there is a significant overlap in usage and I am wondering if you would consider a cross-reference between the two entries. Should you also think on the same lines about quantity and size in the sense that there are some definite occasions when one must use one or the other, then perhaps that distinction can be incorporated without eliminating the common factor.

I have not made an input into the actual text because I guess that I would tend to go overboard with my descriptive tendency.

Following the recent exchanges based on my submission under "お金をこわす ; お金を壊す" and Rene's comments under para (2), namely: "2) regarding the proposed entry for お金を崩す (which should have been submitted as a new entry, not a comment here), i do not see the need. it is standard use of くずす. to make this clear, i have split the senses in that entry"

Now that we have that split, I wounder if you would consider a cross reference link in the above, namely: e,g.,[4][v5s,vt] to break (a bill); to change; to make change (See 札を崩す),i.e., to link with the following existing useful entry [or vice versa]:-

札を崩す 【さつをくずす】 (exp,v5s) to change a note; to break a bill

Although, unlike the general usage in the entry of "お金をこわす; お金を壊す 【おかねをこわす】 (exp,v5s) (nab:) (See 壊す・3) to make change; to break a bill", "札を崩す" does at least still give the searcher a sense of actual usage.

Hi, I think that the example sentence (紺屋の白袴, "Shoemakers' children go barefoot") should be deleted since it bears no obvious relation to the definition "dyer", and this expression 紺屋の白袴 has a separate entry that explains its meaning. However, in the entry for 紺屋の白袴 I think it should be clearer what is the literal meaning.

I was happy to agree to Robin's removal of "vegetable" for two reasons: (a) none of my JEs has that qualification, and (b) the term is used for a wide range of graters including those quite suitable for cheese (see the Ikea ad link, where a very 3D one is labelled おろし器.) The more traditional おろし金 would struggle a bit with a soft cheddar or mozzarella, but is fine for parmesan.
That said, The kokugos do specifically mention the vegetable grating role.
I'm suggesting an "esp" comment, but I'm not sure it's needed.

おろし金 is quite commonly used to refer to any type of grater (see example above), but if we want to make the distinction, "(vegetable) grater" isn't a particularly helpful gloss.
You wouldn't usually use an おろし金 for carrots, but you would for wasabi and ginger, which most people don't think of as vegetables.
I suggest something like this.

mentioned in the Japanese wikipedia article on 手本引き:
"繰札(くりふだ)
胴が用いる一から六までの数字を表す6枚の札のこと。天正かるた系の金貨(オウル)の紋標から豆札とも呼ばれる。豆一六、小点(こてん/こでん)、親札、引札、本
綱(ほんづな)とも言う。"

http://l-pollett.tripod.com/cards70.htm
" HIKIFUDA
Their name literally means "cards to be drawn"; also this may be slightly deceptive, as hikifuda are never handled by the players, but
only by the bank. However, the latter does actually draw one of these cards.
They are slightly smaller than the standard Japanese gambling cards; also these ones feature six values, from 1 to 6, by means of pips
whose shape corresponds to the suit of Ôru, or Coins, found in Mekuri patterns. The backs are black.
Usually, the hikifuda found in a full deck are 48 cards, but once again this is not really important: the bank uses only one series of
these cards, i.e. from number 1 to number 6.

full series of hikifuda (pips from 1 to 6), by Ôishi Tengudô, Japan
An alternative name for hikifuda is KURIFUDA ("shuffling cards"). Since the bank hides the six cards from the players' view as he
shuffles them, their small size helps him do this operation with one hand alone, in particular using his thumb."
