The case for revisiting this one is not strong:
- in usage 許す dominates
- the JE dictionaries only have 許す for ゆるす. GG5 has it for all its 7 senses
- the major kokugos combine all three kanji forms in single entries. Daijirin adds tags such as 《許・赦》 and 《許・聴》 to some of the senses but 許 is used for all senses.
We could add notes such as "occ. 赦す" to some entries, but given the low level of usage of the other two forms, is it worth it?

You're correct. I note that the JE dictionaries favour transitive glosses (in the active voice), probably because the passive voice can sound awkward and is less helpful for translations. e.g. "このびんには2リットル入る" is better translated as "This bottle holds two litres" than as "Two litres can be held in this bottle". But I support the change. I've amended the "obtain" sense as well.

From what I understand, sense 4 seems "backwards" - the most common definitions of "contain", "hold", and "accommodate" are transitive, but "入る" is listed as intransitive. The examples I have seen other dictionaries use to explain this sense all seem to point to a passive definition, where the subject is the item being "contained". I suspect sense 7 has the same issue, but I couldn't find examples online in English and my Japanese is poor.

When used as 付き物だ（or です, or である), the word has a sense not captured here--that of "X usually accompanies Y" or "with X you usually get Y" (e.g., 歩道には並木が付き物だが、ここでは並木の代わりに、古新聞の束があった。-- There are usually trees lining a sidewalk, but here there were piles of old newspapers instead.)    
But I'm not sure whether this is something to add to this word (since this more an exp than a noun), or if it should be a new entry for 付き物だ・です・である.

Let's drop that note; it's behaving like any other 形容動詞.
Definitely not a noun. Re Robin's "Despite what the kokugos say, I don't think any of these senses are nouns", I quite agree. Many 形容動詞 get [名] tags in the kokugos despite them demonstrably only being used as adjectives in modern Japanese. I think this is due to them conforming to "classical" grammatical concepts. We tend to tag them as "adj-na,n", I would be quite happy to cull the "n" where appropriate. I'll raise an issue on this.

We're not very consistent when it comes to notes like this. But on 20 entries we have a note that says "oft. adverbially as ..." (or something similar). I prefer this to just "as ..." However, I'm not sure the note is even needed.
Looking at the kokugo definitions and JE examples, I think these are the only glosses needed on sense 3.
Despite what the kokugos say, I don't think any of these senses are nouns. Meikyo just has 形動/副.

Maaaybe here, though? But it's still a bit of a stretch, all of these added together. The point of the rK as I see it isn't to say 
"this kanji might as well not have been included in this entry at all, it's completely pointless" but to tell esp. early learners 
that it's quite rare and that they don't need to bother learning it by heart to feel they "know" the word in question, and also to 
provide guidance for reverse lookups. It's not to say they won't ever, in a lifetime of reading Japanese, possibly come across it or 
find reason to use it. Since we do mention it in a note on sense 2, and considering these ngrams, I'm OK with removing it, though.

GG5, 新和英中辞典

GG5 has this as a standalone entry in kana. 新和英中辞典 has it as part of the general 良い, etc. entry, but has いいか in kana. I wondered about adding 良いか, but I suspect not.

"当日お急ぎ便" -amazon -rakuten only gets 1,990 hits (b). It can 
of course be helpful for people shopping on amazon, but is it 
jmdict's job to provide a legend to that particular site?

i'm not sure.  they apparently also offer お届け日時指定便, which appears to be 'nominated day and time' delivery...  i'm inclined to think that 当日お急ぎ便 may actually be same-day delivery:
「当日お急ぎ便」は注文確定当日に ...  =  "[delivered] the same day as the order is confirmed"?

I just created an entry for 急ぎ便 and while searching for a meaning for that, I saw 当日お急ぎ便 frequently. I couldn't find it defined anywhere, so I'm not 100% certain that it is "same-day delivery" and not "next-day delivery", so please  update if I've got it wrong.

I'll add that to the 締める entry, As for remerging, i.e. undoing the 2012 split, I feel we need to be on much stronger ground to do that. The old merged entry was a mess of restrictions. For now I'd rather keep it as-is with xrefs.

I meant that "to kill" should prob. be added 
as a sense to 締める rather than 〆る. but yes, 
also that the 2 should probably be merged. I'm
