Let's drop that note; it's behaving like any other 形容動詞.
Definitely not a noun. Re Robin's "Despite what the kokugos say, I don't think any of these senses are nouns", I quite agree. Many 形容動詞 get [名] tags in the kokugos despite them demonstrably only being used as adjectives in modern Japanese. I think this is due to them conforming to "classical" grammatical concepts. We tend to tag them as "adj-na,n", I would be quite happy to cull the "n" where appropriate. I'll raise an issue on this.

We're not very consistent when it comes to notes like this. But on 20 entries we have a note that says "oft. adverbially as ..." (or something similar). I prefer this to just "as ..." However, I'm not sure the note is even needed.
Looking at the kokugo definitions and JE examples, I think these are the only glosses needed on sense 3.

This is just the indeterminate 何~ plus the counter ~重, similar to 何人, 何件, etc.  (see for example eijiro's 「何重にもこん包する」.) Since 何~も can be applied to any and all counters, I don't think this entry is necessary.  I have edited our entry for 重[じゅう] to indicate that it is also used as a counter

Meaning is derived from 重なる. Having a hard time finding references except for literature (and not sure quoting is acceptable/worthy as reference), and my (native) wife.

Just a quick comment about "jisho.org doesn't display backwards references". You are only seeing them here because you are getting a maintenance view of a fairly complex relational database. Took a stab at this.  This entry で seems to be the "most correct" (and most common) form. I think the other entry should be merged here, deleted, or be replaced minimally with [see=this-entry].

I think the source-language thing was better. Yes, English

obvious it's a loanword to begin with (not all katakana

This is in the book I'm reading, and I couldn't find it defined anywhere, but I've chosen three meanings which seem to fit based on the contexts I found, e.g.: "ビュイーンと音を立てて", "富士スピードウェイをビュイーンと飛ばしちゃおう！", "新幹線でビュイーンと横浜に到着し” -- please feel free to correct the meanings if I've got them wrong.
