Refs: | The apparently (among native speakers) common misreading かくとう is the topic of the discussions on the following pages: https://proverb-encyclopedia.com/two/gaitou-kakutou/ https://reading-dictionary.com/「該当」の読み方と意味とは?「かくとう」と「/ https://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q10183030550 https://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q1228472142 https://zatugaku-gimonn.com/entry713.html In addition, there is long and funny blog entry that plays on this misreading (I think that adds weight to the idea that it is not uncommon): https://note.com/bunoshi/n/n1559b03c3002 |
|
Comments: | It started with a native speaker telling me that 該当する方 was read かくとうするかた, but neither of us was able to find 該当 in any dictionary by way of entering かくとう, while a web search brought up the references above that not only show that かくとう is a misreading but also that it is common enough to warrant discussion. Ergo the addition of the "ik" item. |

Comments: | その通り is clearly highly idiomatic. よく通る, on the other hand, is just A+B. よく means 'well' and just like its English equivalent can be added to anything. The form I've changed it to above is ~perhaps~ worthy of an entry, I think. |
