Comments: | I'm pretty sure "かせんじき" is loads more common than "かせんしき". ngrams かせんじき 17 かせんしき 1 googits: "kasenshiki" "河川敷" 2530 "kasenshiki" "河川敷" 984 ”河川じき" 1340 ”河川しき" 141 Google Maps list plenty of "河川敷公園" as "Kasenjiki ..." in English, but there's not a single hit for "Kasenshiki". All pretty weak evidence, but I asked a native informant (Osakan, in her 30's) and she wasn't even aware that the word could be pronounced "かせんしき" and couldn't recall ever hearing it pronounced like that (even on TV). NHK apparently uses both https://www.nhk.or.jp/bunken/summary/kotoba/gimon/186.html |
