Refs: | Saw this discussed in Jim's reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/comments/b04h8e/usually_kana_tags_in_wwwjdic_jisho_etc/ person 1: "nothing is "always kanji", and anything that's truly "always kana" wouldn't even have any kanji forms listed...so both of those tags would be completely pointless." person 2: "You mean like する? 100% Kana all the time, most IMEs won't even convert this." So I checked my Windows 10 standard IME and found that it indeed would not even show 為る for する, nor does my android google keyboard. That essentially makes 為る archaic, doesn't it? (alternatively, if we implement the suggested rareKanji, this would perhaps be candidate for that) |

I wonder if you would consider giving a cross-link to:- おかしい 《可笑しい(P); 奇怪しい(iK)》 (adj-i) (1) (uk) funny; amusing; comical; laughable; ridiculous; (2) (uk) strange; odd; funny; peculiar; weird; unusual; eccentric; (3) (uk) improper; unsuitable; unbecoming; (4) (uk) suspicious; (P) The former with 1m hits on Google, the above with 100m. The main entry above is a useful inclusion and it would also be good to note the above entry as a link; especially as kanji are not normally used for these in the text. The link and the common kanji background would give the clear relationship between the two entries. |

|
Comments: | -sense 2 is 'mammal-like reptile' which is ~not~ synonymous with 'synapsid'. all mammals are synapsids but not all synapsids are mammals, and those that are not are called 'mammal-like reptiles' (a term that is no longer favoured because 'reptile' is now usually defined so as not to include the ancestors of mammals) -we have _mostly_ consistently used plurals for taxonomic terms ending in -類 |

Should/cold that go here as a note? - is there a real reference for sense 2? I can't find it in 日本国語大辞典 or anywhere else. - sense 3 should be in its own entry, if indeed it is valid at all. I wouldn't mind dropping senses 2 and 3. |

Comments: | just stating it's an abbreviation used in dictionaries without noting what it abbreviates doesnt really help someone looking up the term also without the explanation in the first referenced entry most learners won't understand what a ku adjective is since googling ku adjective only gives you hits explaining the ku form of normal i-adjectives the second reference is there so you know where the 形 in the abbreviation is from; couldn't find an entry that has both letters of the abbreviation in it (e.g. 形容詞ク活用) side note: someone should probably do the same edit for the 形シク-antry (2733090) |

Comments: | It has a good number of Google hits. The principle of a + b probably applies. And, as Rene, states, if you don't know the standard readings for the suffix one should look elsewhere. However, you do have the following on site:- 太い鉛筆 【ふといえんぴつ】 (n) broad pencil 太い腕 【ふというで】 (n) big arm so maybe this submission would not be out of place in the main dictionary. |
