Comments: | I don't think トロ works as a suffix. True there is a derivative word like 豚トロ, to extend the meaning to pork. But that doesn't mean トロ means any fatty meat. トロ by itself is restricted to tuna meat. I believe the sense [2] should be removed. In any case, "fatty ..." is not an appropriate way to describe a meaning. It should be something like "Fatty portion of any meat" |

Comments: | add [sK] This is what I didn't want to see (kanji falling out of the dictionary), but this does indeed appear to be super-rare, verging on historical trivia. 含羞 was already [sK]'d out of はにかむ, so I can't see how it should be listed here. daijisen does not list the kanji form. You can find the form in very old writing if you look hard, it seems, but exceptionally rare. |

Comments: | I'm surprised to see the cross-reference return. If I were using jisho.org, searched for ハニカミ, got this reference, and then saw [see=含羞], this would indicate to me that 含羞 is a *better* way to say "bashfullness". Obviously it is not. If there were kanji on this term, I would understand "oh, these are two different readings of the same kanji, that's what the [see=] is for". With the kanji gone, this cross-reference seems to do more harm than good. That's why I removed [see=] in the original edit. Maybe we could move [see=] over to the 含羞 entry instead? That will get less-popular-entry pointing at more-popular-entry. Even there, no one will understand that these terms are related by kanji. |

Comments: | Simply a + b, but the reading is the plague for the novice. Obviously it gets many Google hits, but is "個" to be read as "か" or "こ"? Your main entry for "何百" gives the help on "百" being "びゃく" and not "ひゃく", but again this entry itself is only a + b. How far should one go? It understsnd that it is difficult. Sometimes I wonder if there is a case for expanding the entry for numbers to show the obvious counters, etc., with the main entry. Obviously you cannot have a separate entry for "何" in front of all applicable cases, nor a separate entry for counters attached to numbers. However, maybe one could have the brief addition to the main entry for say "百" which would solve the issue for questions and counters. |
