I don't see "to nuzzle against" used in any of the kokugo/JE examples for なすりつける. I think that meaning might only apply to すりつける and こすりつける.
It seems sense [1] for なすりつける is used more in the sense of rubbing dirt onto clothes, ointment onto a wound, paint onto a canvas, etc.

I'm reluctant to chop out the あえない, etc. readings. Many kanwas have them, although 広辞苑 only has あえて. One day I hope to align the readings and meanings, and that will group あえて with the positive ones and あえない with the negative.
The original 訓読み was あう (i.e. ふ), but now the negative base only is used.

I really don't think we can expect our users to understand that "as たって" (or "as ~たって") is supposed to refer to a verb in the past tense +って. I think we should be explicit.

Also, I think we should get rid of the たって entry, even if it's in the kokugos. I don't think it makes sense in a wa-ei dictionary. I'd much rather we covered that use here. I don't think anybody encountering [past tense verb]+って is likely to arrive at that entry rather than this one.

I think "indicates supposition" was a bad take (it was mine).

* Fix definition: not just overstaying, but simply illegal *residence*. (daijr specifies: 不法入国・不法上陸・不法残留 – illegal entry, illegal landing, illegal overstaying)
As eijr examples make clear though, in Japan this is overwhelmingly overstaying, hence worth mentioning separately, but not as the main definition.
(In conversation with friend, who used to refer to Mexicans in the US, in this case entering illegally (not overstaying).)

* Add direct name (“straight-from-the-pot”)
* Elaborate explanation – the distinguishing feature (and origin of the name) is specifically the “pulled from the pot, not soaked in cold water” feature; it’s a bit technical, but this is an unfamiliar dish in English.
* Also, “sauce” is a better gloss for つゆ here than “broth” (dipping sauce, not soupy broth)
* [fld=food]
* tag [expl] as such

Sign at temple (unoccupied b/c monk was out in town begging for food).
Roughly synonymous with 托鉢 but with nuance of *going*, hence “going”, “round”.
pindacara seems to be the formal (Pali?) term.
